The Odyssey lineup is coveted by those who want competitive specs, beautiful color, and a premium build quality. Some of the best Cyber Monday gaming monitor deals have been from Samsung, but this one is extra impressive.
What's probably the best ultrawide gaming monitor you can possibly buy — the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 — is currently $500 off. If you want cutting-edge Mini-LED technology for incredibly deep HDR 2000 coverage and the specs to handle fast, competitive gaming, this is it. Unfortunately, it's still $2,000 at Samsung even after the discount. If money to you is just fun numbers that don't affect your day-to-day life, no need to read any further. Get the Odyssey Neo G9.
However, if you have about half as much to spend, the non-Neo Odyssey G9 is also $500 off at Samsung. The standard Odyssey G9 is QLED instead of Mini-LED so you won't get as deep of contrast and HDR, but for $900 less that's not going to matter for most people. The Odyssey G9 is still a gorgeous ultrawide monitor, and its specs are otherwise quite similar to the Neo version.

The Odyssey Neo G9 costs almost twice as much as the standard G9, but its Mini-LED technology will appeal to some. Its 49-inch VA panel has a 5,120x1440 resolution, 1000R curve, 2,000 nits peak brightness, HDR 2000, 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro with G-Sync compatibility.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 is absolutely stacked. The 49-inch ultrawide VA panel with 32:9 aspect ratio will dominate your desktop, and the 1000R curve will suck you right in. It boasts a 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and clear 5,120x1440 resolution, all superb specs for any type of gaming. You will need a powerful PC to get the most out of this display, but if you're reading this you probably already know that.
Color and contrast are excellent, with HDR 1000 support for extra enjoyment in compatible content. The display is just as comfortable with movies as it is with games.
