Windows 11 SE delivers a simplified version of Microsoft's operating system. It comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office and mirrors saved files to the cloud. Apps automatically run in full-screen mode on Windows 11 SE, and multitasking is limited to just two apps running side-by-side. The OS also removes access to the "This PC" area within the File Explorer. All of these changes are to make devices running Windows 11 SE simpler to use for students.
Microsoft's education-focused operating system includes several features for device management as well, including updating silently and automatically.
In addition to Dynabook, Acer, ASUS, Dell, Fujitsu, HP, JK-IP, Lenovo, and Positivo have plans for Windows 11 SE devices. Microsoft also announced the Surface Laptop SE today, which starts at $249.
