Lenovo's new gaming laptops and monitor should meet the demands of gaming professionals and high-end enthusiasts.

What you need to know

  • Lenovo announced the Legion 7i, Legion 5i, Pro, and Legion 5i gaming laptops today.
  • The company also announced the Legion Y25g-30 gaming monitor.
  • The flagship Legion 7i comes with up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i9 and up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080.

Lenovo announced several new Legion gaming laptops today, as well as a new Legion gaming monitor. The 16-inch Legion 7i is the flagship of the new laptop lineup that also includes the Legion 5i Pro and the Legion 5i, the latter of which comes in either 15-inch or 17-inch models. The Legion Y25g-30 looks set to compete with the best PC gaming monitors, thanks to its 360Hz refresh rate and eye-friendly features.

The Legion laptops all run on the latest 11th Gen Intel processor. The Legion 5i and 5i Pro come with up to an Intel Core i7-11800H, while the Legion 7i comes with up to an Intel Core i9-11980HK. The new Legion laptops have up to 5GHz turbo frequency and support up to 20 PCIe lanes.

All of the new Legion laptops have several options for NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop graphics. The Legion 7i comes with up to a 165W GeForce RTX 3080 laptop GPU, while the Legion 5i Pro and Legion 5i come with up to an RTX 3070. The spec sheets and designs of the new Legion laptops could help them earn a spot on our list of the best gaming laptops.

The screens of the Legion 7i and Legion 5i Pro are TÃœV-certified for eye protection and feature refresh rates of up to 165Hz. Lenovo Legion TrueStrike helps deliver speedy inputs, while the AI-optimized Lenogo Legion AI Engine helps reduce lag by dynamically shifting power between the CPU and GPU.

The Lenovo Legion Y25g-30 is a 24.5-inch gaming monitor built to meet the demands of gaming professionals. It supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and NVIDIA Reflex to prevent screen-tearing and motion blur. Its 360Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time should help deliver quick and smooth gameplay as well.

The Lenovo Legion 7i and Legion 5i Pro will be available starting in June of this year with starting prices of $1,770 and $1,330, respectively. The Lenovo Legion 5i Pro arrives just a month later, in July 2021, with a starting price of $970. Gamers will have to wait a bit longer for the Lenovo Legion Y25g-30, which starts at $700 and arrives in October 2021.
