What you need to know

  • Acer announced new versions of its Predator Triton 300, Helios 300, and Nitro 5 gaming laptops.
  • The laptops feature 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors.
  • You can get the laptops with a variety of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs, including the new RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti.

Acer announced refreshes to its Predator Triton 300, Helios 300, and Nitro 5 gaming laptops this week. The laptops all feature new 11th Gen H-series processors. They also have options for several NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series GPUs, including the new RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti.

The Predator Triton 300 will be available in July with a starting price of $1,699 in the U.S. The 15-inch Acer Nitro 5 and 17-inch Acer Nitro 5 will both be available in the U.S. starting in June with starting prices of $1,099 and $999, respectively. Pricing for the Helios 300 has not been shared at this time.

The Predator Triton 300 is the most powerful of the new laptops from Acer. It can hit a boost clock speed of up to 5.0GHz. It runs on up to an NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU and has up to 32GB of DDR4 memory.

It has display options for either a 165 Hz QHD panel or a 360 Hz FHD panel. To go along with those speedy displays, it has a 3ms overdrive response.

The Predator Triton 300 has 4-zone RGB lighting for personalization and colored WASD and arrow keycaps. The laptop has Intel Killer E2600G Ethernet, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i, and Control Center 2.0 to lower latency.

The Predator Helios 300 pairs its 11th Gen Intel Core H-series processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070. It has up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM as well. As it powers games at high frame rates, the Predator Helios 300 will show them off on either a 360Hz FHD or 165 Hz QHD panel. Each of the displays has a 3ms overdrive response.

The Predator Helios 300 also has 4 RGB-zone lighting as well as see-through concave-shaped caps for its WASD keys.

In terms of connectivity, the Predator Helios 300 includes Intel Killer E2600 ethernet and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i.

The Acer Nitro 5s the most budget-friendly of the new batch of laptops. The previous Nitro 5 is the best value pick on our list of the best gaming laptops, and the new model stays along the same lines. It has an RTX 3070 GPU and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

The Acer Nitro 5 is available in either 15-inch or 17-inch models, each of which has a 165 Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time.

Acer focused on cooling for the Nitro 5. It has Acer Coolboost technology, dual-fans, and exhaust with four vents. People can also select preset cooling modes to tune the laptop's performance.
