  • It's coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S in Summer 2021.
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has passed 2 million players already.

Microsoft Flight Simulator released for PC back on August 18, crossing a million players in its first couple of weeks. Today, we've learned via Xbox Wire that Microsoft Flight Simulator has crossed 2 million players, while also becoming the fastest-growing entry ever in the Flight Simulator series.

Some more interesting statistics shared indicate that players have charted over 50 million different flights and have flown over 3.5 billion miles.

Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Xbox Game Studios, this ambitious sim is coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles sometime in Summer 2021, as announced during the Game Awards 2020. Meanwhile, the VR mode for PC users is coming in a large patch on December 22.

While there's been several patches and updates for bug fixes so far, the developers are planning three future "large updates" in addition to four or five further World Updates. In the meantime, if you're waiting on the console version to arrive, you can try to track down one of the best Xbox HOTAS controllers.
