Best Buy has debuted its Black Friday deals a few days ahead of schedule, including considerable savings on Microsoft's new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S controllers launched less than two weeks ago. The retailer has knocked one third off the revised Xbox gamepads, with its Carbon Black and Robot White designs dropping to $39.99, and the special edition Shock Blue now $44.99.
The new Xbox controllers bring various enhancements, including improved ergonomics, textured triggers, a new d-pad, and a dedicated share button — and even awarded Windows Central's best Xbox controller in 2020. They work on Xbox One consoles, the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and mobile and PC.
New Xbox Wireless Controller
Microsoft cooked up a new controller for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, also compatible with Xbox One, PC, and mobile. While it sticks to familiar roots, various improvements make this the gamepad to buy.
Microsoft kicked off its latest console family with this new Xbox Series X and Series S controller, which in many ways similar to the Xbox One revision, also comes with several key improvements. The new "Share" button borrows a design trend seen across other consoles, enabling quick access to screenshots and video recording.
The textured triggers and directional pad also make everyday interactions a little smoother, while its body comes refined with softer angles and edges. It all takes inspiration from the premium Xbox Elite Controller Series 2, which brought various new features over the base Xbox One design.
The result is a controller that feels different, and while not a game-changing refresh, this saving makes this a lucrative gamepad to buy if in need of an upgrade or replacement. It's the lowest price we've seen yet for these next-generation Xbox accessories, although you can check out more of the best Xbox deals for Black Friday right here.
