Here's what your new Xbox Series X will be packaged in.
What you need to know
- Packaging for the Xbox Series X retail box has appeared online.
- We have not seen packaging for the Xbox Series S yet.
- Both consoles are scheduled to release on November 10, 2020.
While Microsoft finally revealed pricing and release dates for its two upcoming next-generation consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, we didn't yet see retail packaging. That has changed thanks to a listing on Canadian retailer The Source, which shows us the box that the Xbox Series X will be packaged in.
The internal 1TB SSD is boldy displayed on the box, a useful thing to put forward considering the SSD in the Xbox Series S is identical but only 512GB. Both consoles support the expansion cards Microsoft has developed in partnership with Seagate.
The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are both set to release on November 10, 2020. Preorders are scheduled to open on September 22, 2020. The Xbox Series X will cost $499 while the Xbox Series S will cost $299. The release dates of several games have been bumped up to match the new consoles, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
Best of both worlds
