If you've been following along with graphics cards recently, you'll know that NVIDIA's upcoming 30-series graphics cards have already leaked pretty heavily. Now that we have an offical announcement date of September 1, the leaks are only going to get more revealing for NVIDIA's next-gen graphics lineup. The latest leak from VideoCardz sees memory manufacturer Micron accidentally drop the ball on key specs for the flagship GPU from NVIDIA, the GeForce RTX 3090.
According to the report, the RTX 3090 (the rumored top dog in the lineup), will feature the brand-new GDDR6X memory for the first time, allowing the GPU to hit never-before-seen speeds, possibly even breaking the 1TB/s barrier with incredible bandwith speeds, which is mind-boggling fast. The report also reiterates previous leaks that the 3090 will debut with 12GB of this new GDDR6X memory, but previous leaks have also claimed 16, 20, and even 22GB variants, so we'll have to wait and see for the full amount.
We already knew that NVIDIA's upcoming graphics cards were going to impressive, especially considering NVIDIA regularly dominates our list of best graphics cards, but debuting with GDDR6X memory will allow these graphics monsters to hit new levels of of speed, with the cards able to push through a huge amount of data in a very short period of time. It'll be very exciting to see what NVIDIA's 30-series cards, and especially the heavily-rumored RTX 3090 flagship, are capable of in PC gaming.
As always, these are just leaks and rumors at the moment, so take it with a hefty pinch of salt until NVIDIA confirms this info.
