Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi Laptop in India later this month.

What you need to know

  • Xiaomi India is set to launch its first laptop in the country, dubbed the Mi Laptop
  • The launch event is slated for June 11, and will be held online.
  • The laptop itself should be on sale before the end of the month.

Xiaomi has sent out invites to the media for the launch of the Mi Laptop in India. The launch event is slated for June 11, which is when we'll know what Xiaomi has in store with its first laptop in the country.

As we've confirmed last week, the Mi Laptop is a brand new model designed for the Indian market. It will offer hardware that's similar to Xiaomi's current notebooks, but the SKU itself is unique to India.

And before you worry that Xiaomi is going to launch an entry-level model that doesn't quite hit the mark, that will not be the case. The Chinese manufacturer already confirmed that it is setting its sights on the high-end segment with the Mi Laptop, and that it will be aimed at gamers and content creators. That suggests we'll see a machine with a dedicated video card.

We don't have a lot to go on, but the fact that the launch is slated for next week suggests an eventual sale may not be too far away. Xiaomi doesn't wait around after unveiling a product in the country, so you can look forward to the Mi Laptop being on sale in India in the coming weeks.

We'll have to wait until the launch event to find out more about pricing and the hardware on offer, but it is exciting to see Xiaomi diversify into new categories in India. What do you want to see from the Mi Laptop?
