MSI just unveiled a lineup of gaming PCs that range from compact console competitor to PC gaming beast.

What you need to know

  • MSI announced several new gaming desktops today.
  • The desktops include powerful systems like the Aegis RS and console competitors like the MPG Trident 3.
  • MSI's new desktops will become available throughout June and July this year.

MSI announced a wide range of new gaming desktops today. The new PC selection includes a console competitor in the MPG Trident 3 which features a compact body as well as the Aegis RS which comes with up to NVIDIA RTX 2080 SUPER graphics and up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i9 processor. The Codex R, Aegis R, Aegis RS, Aegis SE, MEG Trident X and MPG Trident 3 become available throughout June and July.

Codex R

The Codex R brings some flair to your setup with its tempered glass that shows off your PC's internals and RGB lighting. It comes with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 and up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10700F processor. With its RTX 2060, it's one of the more affordable ways to get ray tracing on an MSI desktop, though you can also opt for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER if you prefer. The Codex R starts at $899 and will be available starting in July.

MSI Codex R

This PC brings ray tracing at a more affordable price point. It runs on up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 and up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor.

Aegis R and Aegis RS

The Aegis R and Aegis RS bring more processing and graphical power. The Aegis R comes with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER graphics. The more powerful Aegis RS comes with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i9-10900K processor and up to NVIDIA RTX 2080 SUPER graphics. Both PCs feature MSI's Dragon CPU liquid cooler and magnetic dust filters to help prevent overheating. The PCs' cases feature tempered glass which can show off RGB lighting. The Aegis R and Aegis RS will be available in July starting at $1,499 and $1,549, respectively.

Aegis SE

The Aegis SE is comparatively modest when it comes to power but can still deliver solid gaming performance. It comes with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10400F processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER graphics. It supports Gaming Mode, which optimizes the PC for gaming. It also supports customizable lighting to add some color to your setup. The Aegis SE starts at $799 and will be available in July.

This more affordable gaming PC comes with up to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER and up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor.

MEG Trident X

The MEG Trident X is the flagship model of the new lineup. MSI states that the MEG series "seeks to transcend current gaming products." Despite having a 10L case, MSI points out that the MEG Trident X packs internals typical of full tower cases. The MEG Trident X comes with up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i9-10900K processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics. The PC supports Thunderbolt 3, allowing transfer speeds of 40GB/s. Its design features glass in a few places to show off its MSI Mystic Light setup. The MEG Trident X will be available in June starting at $2,299.

MPG Trident 3

Lastly, the MPG Trident 3 brings PC gaming in a form factor reminiscent of gaming consoles. Its case is only 4.72L, so it should be able to fit in the living room or on a desk. It runs on up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER graphics. It starts at $879 and will be available from June.
