It has been a wild ride for buying consoles this year, as well as all other electronic devices. Still, things could always be worse for the PC industry, which is still enduring a GPU price hike. Even though it's difficult to get your hands on the best graphics card at a reasonable price, there are still some deals out there to consider.

If you are wanting to grab yourself an Xbox Series X for gaming, but have been unable to make the purchase for upwards of a year, it may be time to switch platforms and consider a gaming PC instead. I'm not going to try to sway you by saying you can build an equally capable gaming PC for the price of an Xbox Series X as it's impossible.

But that's because a PC is so much more. You can do your work on it, upgrade it at a later date and truly make it yours with custom designs, case modding, and everything else your imagination can possibly dream of. We've rounded up some of the best discounts right now on pre-built PCs, as well as the best Cyber Monday PC parts deals if you'd rather build it yourself.

Buy a pre-built gaming PC

HP OMEN 30L | $170 off

HP's OMEN 30L is one of our top picks for a pre-built gaming PC, and right now you can save a flat $100 off models with an RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 GPU. Add up to an Intel Core i9-10900K CPU with liquid cooling, 64GB of RAM, and 6TB of storage space.

From $2,000 at HP

CyberpowerPC Gamer Master GM60900 | $200 off

This pre-built from CyberPowerPC has a white case and RGB lighting inside for an overall snazzy look. It's no sleeper, with a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD, and NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti GPU. Models come with a keyboard and mouse.

From $1,700 at Newegg

ABS Master Gaming PC | $200 off

This is one powerful gaming rig, priced aggressively. Inside, you'll find an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, and a 512 M.2 NVMe SSD. It's ready for most PC titles you can throw at it.

From $1,400 at Newegg

iBuyPower SlateMono 239i | $100 off

The iBuyPower SlateMono 239i may be an affordable PC, but it's no slouch. It has an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 480GB SATA SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. It's best suited for 1080p gaming, but you're getting a good deal here.

From $800 at Newegg

iBuyPower Element MR 208i | $195 off

Our next recommendation here goes to the iBuyPower Element MR 208i. It has an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11700F CPU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a 240GB SSD, and 1TB HDD for all your games.

From $1,305 at Amazon

ABS Gladiator (ALI577) | $400 off

This behemoth isn't particularly cheap even with the major discount, but it's the right choice for those who want utmost performance. The ASUS GT501 case holds inside an Intel Core i7-11700KF CPU, 16GB of G.SKILL TridentZ RGB DDR4 RAM, 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU. It's built on an ASUS TUF Z590 motherboard, it has a 360mm AiO cooler, and an 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU.

$2,600 at Newegg

Maingear Vybe | $125 off

Maingear builds quality custom PCs with high-end hardware and non-proprietary parts. This model has an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, NVIDIA RTX 3070 GPU, 16GB of Kingston Fury RGB DDR4 RAM, and a 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD coupled with a 1TB Seagate HDD. It's built on an MSI B550M Pro motherboard, it uses a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB CPU cooler, and it's powered by a 500W EVGA PSU. This also includes an extra year of warranty for free, a $99 value.

$1,974 at Maingear

Build your own gaming PC

If you feel comfortable building a computer on your own or wish to learn a new skill, we've compiled a list of components that cost $674. It consists of the excellent AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU, which is capable of playing the latest PC games at 1080p without issue. You'll need a Windows license (or your favorite flavor of Linux).

Case

Corsair 4000D Airflow

$80 at Amazon

$80 at Newegg

This fine-looking case from Corsair is a dream to build a PC inside. It has a high airflow front panel to allow fans to pull in plenty of cool air to keep everything within safe operating temperatures, and Corsair even includes two of its own 120mm fans with the case. There's also support for our 2.5-inch SSD for storing all our games. And don't forget the RGB lighting.

CPU

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

$300 at Newegg

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is an impressive mid-range processor. It's got eight physical cores (and 16 threads) that can go up to 3.8GHz, but the most important feature is the integrated Radeon graphics. It even comes with a CPU cooler that can handle the temperatures thrown out.

Motherboard

ASRock B550M PRO4

$90 at Amazon

$90 at Newegg

This AMD B550 motherboard from ASRock is a fine entry point for the Ryzen 7 5700G. You're not going to want to push this CPU too hard with the stock cooler and this motherboard will happily supply power to it. There's support for up to DDR4-4733 RAM and has a strong selection of USB ports on the rear.

RAM

Crucial Ballistix DDR4-3200 16GB (8GB x2)

$49 at Newegg

This 16GB RAM kit consists of two 8GB DDR4-3200 modules that work super well with Ryzen processors. Timings come in at 16-18-18-36 (at 1.35v) with a CAS latency rating of just 16. What all this means is you have ample capacity for running the latest games, as well as quick enough memory to smash through lag and load times.

OS SSD

Crucial P2 250GB

$35 at Amazon

This NVMe drive is perfect for our motherboard and CPU. It has a read and write speed of up to 2400MB/s and 1900MB/s, respectively. It's what we'll be using to store our OS, be it Windows or a distribution of Linux.

Games SSD

Crucial MX500 1TB

$85 at Amazon

$85 at Newegg

The Crucial MX500 won't win any awards for speed, but it does still pack a punch and can easily hit up to 560MB/s and 510MB/s for read and write. It's perfect for storing games, and 1TB should be enough for a modest-sized library.

PSU

Corsair CX650 (650W)

$35 at Newegg

Usually, we'd recommend against such cheap power supplies, but Corsair is a well-respected name and we rate their PSUs. After using a $20 rebate, this CX650 is just $35, which offers crazy good value. You can even add a GPU down the road if you want to upgrade your gaming experience.

Even if you cannot locate Xbox Series X stock, there are some great ways to get into gaming this festive season and PC can do so much more. Buy an Xbox controller and you've got your own console-like experience.
