After many leaks we now have an official unveiling of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti GPUs. Buckle up, because the former launches June 3.
What you need to know

NVIDIA today unveiled its new Ampere-powered GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards at Computex 2021. The non-Ti versions already hold top spots in our best graphics card collection, so there's no doubt these GPUs should be quite popular for gamers and creators alike who crave extra performance. The RTX 3080 Ti should provide a strong boost for anyone interested in high-quality 4K gaming, while the RTX 3070 Ti should prove to be the go-to option for peak QHD gaming.
NVIDIA claims the RTX 3080 Ti is twice as fast as the GTX 1080 Ti in terms of traditional rasterization, while the RTX 3070 Ti will double the GTX 1070 Ti and go 1.5 times again as fast as the RTX 2070 Super when it comes to raw performance. And these GPUs aren't without the NVIDIA magic, including mature ray tracing and DLSS capabilities, NVIDIA Broadcast streaming tool, and NVIDIA Reflex latency reduction.
The RTX 3080 Ti will follow the same design as the non-Ti version, complete with 12-pin connector.
NVIDIA's new GPUs have hardly been a well-kept secret. There have been multiple RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti leaks in the weeks leading up to the announcement, confirming everything from performance specs to design choices.
The RTX 3080 Ti will employ the GA102-225 GPU, with 10,240 CUDA cores, 80 RT cores (dedicated cores for ray tracing), 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM with a 384-bit bus, and a 350W TDP. The RTX 3070 Ti is going with the GA104-400 GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores, 48 RT cores, and 8GB of GDDR6X VRAM with 256-bit bus. Following is a breakdown of the Ti-model specs compared to the non-Ti versions already on the market.

The RTX 3080 Ti will undoubtedly see a benefit from the extra 2GB of GDDR6X VRAM, wider 384-bit bus, and extra CUDA and RT cores compared to the NVIDIA RTX 3080. The RTX 3070 Ti gets a bump up to the G6X VRAM with the same bus compared to the NVIDIA RTX 3070, as well as more CUDA and RT cores. Note that the RTX 3080 Ti has also seen a considerable bump in terms of TDP, up to 350W from 320W. That's now on par with the mighty RTX 3090.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is expected to go on sale June 3 starting at $1,199. That's considerably more than the standard RTX 3080, so it will be interesting to see if the performance is really worth the extra $500. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is expected to go on sale a week later on June 10. Prices will start at $599, only $100 more than the list price for the RTX 3070. Expect to see third-party options from ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galax, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac.
