We get it! Everyone wants to find the best deals on Prime Day. With hundreds of Prime Day deals it's no surprise that it can get a bit overwhelming. We've seen some great deals, and we've gotten pretty good at separating the diamonds from the rough. And the truth is, there's a lot of rough out there. Pages upon pages of stuff that's only a few bucks off or had a surge in price right before the big event so the deal price is really just the normal price and all sorts of things like that. But the real scary deals are the ones that look fine on the surface until you realize there's a better option that's worth your investment and is usually on sale as well! Here's our top five picks for the Prime Day deals you should just stay away from.
If you're wondering why you can't even see some of these deal prices, remember that Prime Day is a day exclusive to members of Amazon Prime. If you aren't a member yet, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. It gives you all the benefits of a full member as long the trial is active.

5 worst Prime Day deals
Ring Video Doorbell Wired | $55 off at Amazon
The Ring Video Doorbell on sale for $45 is actually a pretty nice deal overall, but the problem is there are some amazing bundles that include this deal price. So you can get the video doorbell and some essential extras for just a few bucks more. For example, get a free Echo Dot for the exact same price as the doorbell alone. You can also get it with an Echo Show 5 for just $20 more. And why wouldn't you?
Roku Streaming Stick+ | $11 off at Amazon
This isn't even a Prime Day deal! It has been at this price for at least a week now. And yet somehow it's one of the top-selling products this Prime Day! Instead, you should get the Fire TV Stick 4K that's down to just $25. It's a better option and includes 4K streaming. Amazon will even throw in three free months of Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ with the purchase of any Fire TV Stick on Prime Day.
Insignia 24-inch Smart HD 720p TV – Fire TV Edition | $70 off at Amazon
So $100 looks like a really fun price for a TV. That's super cheap after all. But look at the TV you're getting. It's only 24 inches and only 720p. At best, that works for a kids' room or something like that. There are a ton of great TV deals for Prime Day this year, and you don't even have to spend much more than this to get a huge improvement. For example, at just $220 you can step up from 24 inches to 43 and from 720p to 4K with this Insignia set on sale.
Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Gen) | $20 off at Amazon
I can definitely see why someone would be tempted by this crazy price on the 3rd-gen Echo Dot. However, I think you should worry a bit about future proofing your smart home. The 4th-generation is much newer, bound to be supported for much longer, and it's only a $5 increase in price thanks to Prime Day. You can even choose between six months of Amazon Music Unlimited or a free multi-color Sengled smart bulb at that same price.
AirPods Pro | $60 off at Amazon
Unlike most of the deals on this list where there was generally just something better to go with, the AirPods Pro don't really have that because they are the top of the line. In this case, it's mostly about the price. It's a fine deal if you compare it to the MSRP or what Apple is selling it for. However, it's not the sort of price we'd expect on Prime Day. In fact, the earbuds have been selling for just $7 more since late March. We've seen deals as good as $170, too. If you want some earbuds that are truly on sale, try the Galaxy Buds Plus for $84.99, which have never gone lower than $100 before today.
We've told you what to avoid, but let's find some great deals to focus on instead. We've got roundups for the best gaming headsets, the best laptops on sale, and more. Be sure to find something worth your time and money this Prime Day.
