800's the magic number.

What you need to know

  • HP introduced its EliteOne 800 G8 All-in-One PC.
  • The All-in-One will feature 23.8-inch and 27-inch display options.
  • Three HP EliteDesk 800 G8 series PCs were also spotlighted.

HP has new machines coming in hot, starting with the EliteOne 800 G8 All-in-One (AiO). As touted by HP, it's the first commercial AiO to feature AI-based noise reduction and presence awareness.

Beyond that, the AiO will also feature HP FaceFrame, which keeps your face in the center of video calls even when you're moving around. HP cites this as a way to "avoid embarrassing moments," the likes of which we'll leave to your imagination.

The EliteOne 800 G8 AiO will be available in 24 and 27-inch displays, with the 24-inch model having an optional touch display. The 27-inch display will offer QHD visuals, while the 24-inch will be FHD (though there may have been a typo in the press kit, as it lists "FHD (2560x1440)" as well as "FHD (1920 x 1080)," meaning a 24-inch QHD variant may be on the table).

It's a new Windows-based AiO, which is the big selling point for fans of HP and those who don't want to deal with iMacs. Its pricing isn't confirmed yet, and as for the release date, it's slated to arrive sometime in May.

In other news from HP, it's also announcing the EliteDesk 800 G8 Desktop Mini Business PC, EliteDesk 800 G8 Small Form Factor Business PC, and EliteDesk 800 G8 Tower Business PC. HP says the Mini Business PC is the "world's smallest and most powerful Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) business PC" and is perfect for small spaces, the Small Form Factor Business PC provides flexibility and upgradability for IT folks, and the Tower Business PC is built for high performance and intense graphical demands.

All of the EliteDesk 800 G8 desktop PCs are receiving the same release treatment as the AiO, in that they'll be releasing sometime in May at a so-far undisclosed price point. You can read more about all of the products at HP's site.
