Can your fireteam defeat Atheon, Time's Conflux?
What you need to know
- The Vault of Glass raid from the original Destiny has officially gone live in Destiny 2.
- The Power Level requirement for the raid is 1,300, and the raid itself is available to all players.
- Completing the raid before May 25 and June 1 will allow players to purchase the Vault of Glass raid ring and raid jacket, respectively.
- Most of the weapons from the original raid have returned as potential loot rewards, including the beloved hand cannon Fatebringer and the iconic Exotic fusion rifle Vex Mythoclast.
The Vault of Glass raid has officially gone live in Destiny 2 across all platforms, and is available to all players. To successfully complete each of the encounters, players will need to have reached a Power Level of at least 1,300. Notably, Bungie has confirmed that there will be some sizable changes in this version of the raid compared to the original; for example, most players are anticipating that the new Vex Wyvern enemy from Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be in this version, and many are also expecting the Champion enemies from Nightfall strikes to appear in the raid as well. Some mechanics may be altered a bit, too — the route the Gorgon's take in their encounter may be changed, for instance — so players will need to stay on their toes. Bungie has stated that it doesn't want to change the raid too much, though, so it's still ultimately the Vault of Glass that classic Destiny veterans know and love.
Completing the raid before May 25, 2021 at 1 PM will allow players to purchase a special Vault of Glass raid ring, while beating it before June 1, 2021 at 1 PM will give players a chance to buy a Vault of Glass raid jacket. These will be available from the Bungie Rewards tab. You can check out both pieces of apparrel below:
In terms of raid loot, players can expect to get updated versions of many of the weapons that were in the original Vault of Glass, such as the popular Fatebringer hand cannon, the Found Verdict shotgun, the Praedyth's Revenge sniper rifle, and more, including the beloved Exotic fusion rifle Vex Mythoclast. There are also Timelost versions of these weapons available, which are much like Adept weapons you can earn in Nightfalls or Trials of Osiris matches. These weapons come with a mod slot that allows you to make some fairly significant changes to their stats. It's not exactly clear how you can get these weapons yet, but it's expected that it will be possible to do so by completing raid challenges.
Overall, are you excited to jump into the Vault of Glass and take down Atheon, Time's Conflux? Let me know. Destiny 2's latest expansion, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, is available for $40. If you haven't tried out Destiny 2 yet, I highly recommend doing so as it's one of the best Xbox One shooters out there. Make sure you check out my beginner's guide on how to get into Destiny 2 in 2021 for helpful tips, tricks, and more if you do. It also includes details about what raids are like, so make sure to give it a read before you attempt the Vault of Glass.
