Ready to upgrade to the sort of monitor that'll be the only monitor you ever need? Grab Samsung's Odyssey G7 today. It's on sale for just $649.99 at Amazon. You can also find this deal at Best Buy. The 27-inch screen normally sells for around $750, and today's deal is only the third time it has dropped this low since its release last year.
This monitor has a Red color palette inspired by the famous League of Legends player from T1, Faker. While the other versions of the G7 aren't even available at Amazon, they're going for as much as $700 or more elsewhere so Amazon's deal is as good a price as you're going to find today.
We first saw these monitors become available back in June of 2020, and they've always had our eye if you don't mind the wordplay because the Odyssey G7 has a 1000R curvature. That's a curve in the screen designed to be as close to the curve of your eye as possible, resulting in maximum immersion for whatever media you are consuming. It has the added benefit of less eye strain over long sessions, too.
The specifications for the monitor include a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time. The pixel resolution is ideal for gamers, especially since going any higher generally results in a much larger jump in price. Plus, 1440p packs plenty of pixels in there to give you a sharp, detailed image. The monitor also has HDR600 support so it can get rather bright and support HDR content. It's that refresh rate that really lets you know this is a monitor built for gamers. You'll get some of the smoothest action with this display and have four times as many frames every second as something more traditional.
The monitor works with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync to help reduce screen tearing no matter what your graphics card is. It'll match every frame from your graphics card so you don't miss a beat.
You'll also get Samsung's QLED technology for vivid colors. The ports on the back include two DisplayPort, one HDMI, and a USB hub with two USB-A 3.0 ports.
