Halo: The Master Chief Collection
$20 at Microsoft (Xbox) $20 at Microsoft (PC)
The Master Chief Collection is a collection of every Halo shooter from the pre-Xbox One era, offering incredible value at an incredible price.
The best thing about the MCC is that it bundles all of the pre-Xbox One era Halo shooter games together for a killer price, which means that you get a massive amount of bang for your buck. Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 are all available to play through the collection, complete with all of their campaigns, multiplayer playlists, and gamemodes.
The fun doesn't stop there, though. 343 Industries has given all of these games various enhancements and improvements that take advantage of more powerful pieces of hardware such as modern PCs and Xbox Series X. These include patches for 4K resolution, up to 120 FPS, field-of-view (FOV) sliders, viewmodel adjustments, and more.
Also, the developers are even adding in brand new pieces of content to these games that wasn't present in the original. These include new armor sets, weapon and vehicle skins, visor colors, animated visors, and more. This content is all free for players to obtain, and can be earned by leveling up each in-game season's Season Pass. The latest season is Season 6, which just launched and features tons of new Halo 3 cosmetics.
Overall, the MCC is fantastic, and it's definitely one of the best Xbox One shooters available. It's also an awesome game to play while waiting for Halo Infinite, which releases in Fall 2021.
