In an occurrence that is becoming quite common, another set of Windows 10 updates is causing serious issues. According to several people from a recent Reddit thread, the most recent set of Patch Tuesday updates for Windows is causing serious problems. People have run into stuttering, inconsistent frame rates, and seen the Blue Screen of Death after installing the most recent set of updates.
The issues appear to be related to Windows 10 update KB5001330 which started rolling out on April 14, 2021.
The issues don't seem to be limited to a single type of hardware. People with NVIDIA and AMD-powered PCs have experienced issues following the most recent update for Windows 10.
"Microsoft forced the april update, but it has the same issues, we had experienced with the previous optional update," says Reddit user m4dden. "Random stutter, unstable fps , vsync seems broken sometimes, if i screen share on discord my fps in games become very unstable with vsync enabled. Uninstalling it makes everything back to normal."
While the issues can be frustrating, it's easy to uninstall and reinstall updates on Windows 10. Reddit user Danny1145 says that uninstalling the update fixes the issues and that the issues reappear after reinstalling the update.
We have a complete guide on how to uniinstall update KB5001130 to help fix the issues on Windows 10. Be aware that while uninstalling the most recent update could fix the issues, it will also remove any security updates or other improvements from that update.
