Samsung announced 12 new monitors from its S6, S7, and S8 lines. The monitors all support HDR10 and show more than 1 billion colors. They all also feature a 178-degree wide viewing angle and are Intelligent Eye Care certified by TÜV Rheinland. The monitors each feature impressive specs that could earn them a spot on our best computer monitors list.
To help protect people's eyes, the monitors utilize Adaptive Picture eye care technology. This automatically adjusts the brightness and color temperature of the displays based on room conditions. The monitors also have an eye-saver mode that reduces blue light emissions and Flicker-Free support to reduce eye strain.
The S8 is the flagship model of these new monitors. It has a UHD resolution and is available in either 27-inch or 32-inch models. It can show over 1 billion colors and delivers 99% sRGB.
The S8 has multiple types of fast connections. On the data side of things, it supports 10Gbps data transmission through a USB-C port. On the power side of things, it supports up to 90W charging.
The S7 also has a UHD resolution and is available in 27-inch or 32-inch models. It shares several features with its flagship sibling. The S7 supports HDR10, shows over 1 billion colors, and gets 99% sRGB. Unlike the S8, the S7 doesn't support pivoting and swiveling. It only supports tilt. It also offers less in terms of connectivity.
The S6 is available in 24-inch, 27-inch, 32-inch, and 34-inch models. It has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 and supports picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture functionality. The S6 monitors support daisy-chaining as well as LAN cable connectivity.
The 34-inch S6 has a 1000R curvature and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The S6 monitors support swivel, tilt, and rotation.
The new S6, S7, and S8 monitors will be available starting in April. The 27-inch S8 will cost $430, while the S7 lineup starts at $360 for the 27-inch model. The S6 lineup starts at $270.
