Cyberpunk 2077 is left in limbo for a while longer.
What you need to know
- Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world sci-fi RPG from CD Projekt RED, and their latest game.
- While ambitious and captivating, Cyberpunk 2077 suffers from a plethora of major issues, especially on consoles.
- CD Projekt RED has been working on patches to fix it, with the major 1.2 update representing the crux of their efforts.
- However, the 1.2 patch update has been delayed until the second half of March, due to the recent cyber attack on CD Projekt RED.
Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the largest and most ambitious games to ever release, but it was also simply not finished when it was. The game suffers from a ton of bugs and issues, and runs incredibly poorly on base consoles like the Xbox One and PS4. Because of this, developer CD Projekt RED has faced mass criticism, and has had to scramble to fix the game with patch after patch.
The next patch was going to be version 1.2, and was supposed to fix a huge number of issues currently plaguing Cyberpunk 2077. While the 1.2 patch update was originally slated for a February-release, the size of the update and, more importantly, the recent cyber attack on CD Projekt RED has made that plan an impossibility.
Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March. 2/3

Due to these obstacles, the CD Projekt RED team has made the decision to postpone the 1.2 patch update until the second half of March. This is an unfortunate but inevitable circumstance of the situation. Cyberpunk 2077 is nearly unplayable for many players right now, and those who are able to play it are likely to run into an assortment of bugs (of varying size and severity).

The standard for next-gen.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the latest project from CD Projekt Red, the developers behind the Witcher 3. To follow up the game that defined a generation of gaming, Cyberpunk 2077 needed to be huge, ambitious, and captivating. CD Projekt RED's open-world, sci-fi RPG adventure certainly hit those three goals, but at the expense of stability and performance on base consoles.
