Best answer: The best place to buy the Surface Pro 7 Plus is directly from the Business side of the Microsoft Store. It can also be purchased from resellers, but you'll find the best configuration options and support from the official retailer.

Buy the Surface Pro 7 Plus from the Microsoft Store for Business

Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 7 Plus on January 11, 2021. It's targeted toward Enterprise and Education markets and is thus only available to buy on the Microsoft Store's Business side. Why? Executive Editor Daniel Rubino has this to say in his analysis:

Interestingly, Microsoft didn't see the need to bring Surface Pro 7+ to the consumer market, even though that seems like it would have been a logical strategy. But in doing so, some customers who buy Surface Pro 7+ may feel burned if Surface Pro 8 comes out late in the fall and with it an expected updated design. The positioning of Surface Pro 7+ for Business gets around that issue.

Fret not, retail customers. Anyone can buy from the Microsoft Store for Business, and the store page looks the same as the regular side. You can configure a Surface Pro 7 Plus as you'd like, you'll receive points for your purchase, there are alternate payment options and flexible payments, and there is support standing by to help with any questions you might have.

What's new with the Surface Pro 7 Plus?

We put together a Surface Pro 7 vs. Surface Pro 7 Plus comparison article that goes deep on the two devices' differences. There are some quick points to make note of here to help you make an informed buying decision. This is a mid-generation refresh, so the Pro 7 Plus's physical look really hasn't changed much. However, there is now a small door on the back of the tablet that allows for access to the solid-state drive (SSD). This handy addition is ideal for anyone concerned with security or future upgrades.

Inside is where most of the changes take place. The Pro 7 Plus now uses 11th Gen Intel Core processors (CPU), bringing up to a 30% increase in processing power and about an 80% bump to graphics performance thanks to Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU. You can also outfit a model with up to 32GB of RAM, up from 16GB in the standard Pro 7. Thanks to the new chips, battery life has improved significantly. Microsoft claims up to 10.5 hours for the Pro 7, while the Pro 7 Plus is pegged at closer to 15 hours on the Wi-Fi model.

LTE is now available in Core i5 models. The Snapdragon X20 LTE modem keeps you connected everywhere, whether you're near Wi-Fi or not, perfect for anyone always on the move.
