Halo developer 343 Industries has officially launched Season 5 of the MCC, which has been titled "Anvil." There are over 100 new armors and weapon skins across Halo 3 and Halo: Reach for players to earn, and there are also plenty of new nameplates that players can unlock for use on their profiles as well. All of the new items are unlocked by progressing the free Season 5 pass, which is done by gaining experience. You can gain experience by playing the game normally, but you can also get it (and Season Points for extra unlocks) much faster by completing PvE and PvP challenges.
Speaking of challenges, there are also a few specific rewards that can only be earned by completing gameplay challenges. These include the Mister Chief Mariner helmet, the Hazard Pay Mongoose skin, the Lucky Shot Battle Rifle skin (which you can see above), and the Quickdraw nameplate. Don't miss 343's full blog post on Season 5 if you want to know what kinds of challenges you need to complete to get these special rewards.
It's great to see the MCC still getting plenty of new content after 343 Industries finished porting all of the MCC's games to PC, and I think some of the new armor pieces look pretty sweet. Are you going to boot up MCC to chase after these new items? Let me know. I'm personally excited to try and get my hands on the new Mariner helmet, as I think it's badass.
Halo: MCC is available now for $40 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and Windows 10 PCs. It's one of the best Xbox One shooters available, so if you don't have it yet, I highly recommend picking it up. It's a great game to pass the time with as we all wait for Halo Infinite, after all!
