Cyberpunk 2077 and their creator, CD Projekt RED, is having a bit of a rough launch week. After generally positive reviews that praised the massive and ambitious game on PC (like in our Cyberpunk 2077 review), the game launched and was discovered to be an absolute mess on older consoles like the Xbox One and PS4. While there are ways you can improve the console visuals for Cyberpunk 2077, it's still a subpar experience for a lot of people, leading to public outcry and complaints.
Yesterday, Sony pulled Cyberpunk 2077 from the Playstation Store and started offering full refunds to everyone, an unprecedented move that saw one of the biggest games of the year taken away from one of the biggest gaming platforms. Today, Xbox has announced that they are extending their refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077.

Xbox was already being generous with their refunds, and reportedly approved nearly all of the refund requests for Cyberpunk 2077, but now they are extending the typical refund time frame until further notice. Now, anyone who has purchased Cyberpunk 2077 should be able to request and be approved for a refund. However, Cyberpunk 2077 will remain for purchase in the Microsoft Store, and there are no talks currently to remove Cyberpunk 2077, according to CDPR.
While Cyberpunk 2077 can be an amazing game, there's no getting around the numerous issues that it has, especially on older hardware. CDPR is reportedly working on two large patch updates for next year to fix most of these issues, but that doesn't help how the game launched today.
