CD Projekt Red's Chief Executive has told Reuters it is not currently in talks with Microsoft over pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the platform.
Poland's CD Projekt is not in talks with Xbox producer Microsoft about a possible withdrawal from sale of a console version of Cyberpunk 2077, the company's chief executive said on Friday.
"We are not in such discussions with Microsoft at the moment," Adam Kicinski said in a statement to Reuters.
The news comes after Sony announced it had pulled the game from the PlayStation store and was offering refunds to PS4 and PS5 customers. From Android Central :
Cyberpunk 2077 released a week ago and since then, it's been the subject of mixed reception, especially on consoles. Today, Sony announced that players on PS4 and PS5 can request a refund for the game if they choose. Additionally, Sony Interactive Entertainment is pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store until further notice.
CDPR has acknowledged the decision and stated that it is working hard to bring the game back to the PlayStation Store as soon as possible. It still available for physical purchase, in the meantime.
As noted in our Cyberpunk 2077 review the game is plagued by "an immense amount of small bugs" that distract from the immersive world of the game. Furthermore, many users have complained of subpar performance on previous-generation Xbox One and PS4. While next-generation consoles deliver a more refined experience, they're still far from the anticipated experience promised by the studio.
