Next year you'll be able to jump back into your workflow in Teams with a history menu.
What you need to know
- Microsoft Teams will soon feature a history menu.
- The feature will make it easy to jump backward and forward to find documents and other content.
- The history menu is currently set for a February release.
One of the best things about Microsoft Teams is that it can act as a hub for all of your work. It integrates with Microsoft 365 and makes it easy to keep in touch with colleagues, friends, and family. With all the content available within Teams, it's easy to breeze past a document or piece of content. With an upcoming feature, you'll be able to easily navigate backward and forward through your Teams history.
According to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft Teams will soon have a history menu (via TechRadar). Here's a description of the feature as found on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.
The History Menu for Teams desktop clients displays your recently visited locations when hovering over the backward and forward navigation options. Using the menu you can quickly jump back to previous locations, making it much easier to quickly get back to nested locations like tabs or documents. The menu is also accessible via keyboard shortcut.
The feature will be able to work with tabs, documents, and presumably other content within Microsoft Teams. With it, you'll be able to navigate through your history with a mouse or keyboard. It's currently scheduled to come out in February 2021, but that's not set in stone.
