It aims to fix the "most prominent problems" facing Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 developer, CD Projekt RED, has apologized for its Xbox One and PS4 versions of the title, amid concerns over poor performance on base consoles. The studio recently announced it plans to issue optional refunds to those unsatisfied with the game's launch state, establishing a dedicated contact line for impacted players. The announcement also provided further insight into its scheduled roadmap, with two significant patches on track for early 2021 availability.
Cyberpunk 2077 will receive its next patch in the "next 7 days," expected to act as a smaller-scale hotfix on par with the recent 1.04 update rolled out last Friday. It's expected to distribute quick fixes to several top bugs ahead of additional updates scheduled for January and February. These two "large" updates titled "Patch #1" and "Patch #2" aim to polish the title further, also promising to fix "the most prominent problems" impacting the original Xbox One and PS4 systems.
"The first round of updates has just been released and the next one is coming within the next 7 days," the company announced via the Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account. "Expect more, as we will update frequently whenever new improvements are ready. After the holidays, we'll continue working — we'll release two large patches starting with Patch #1 in January. This will be followed by Patch #2 in February. Together these should fix the most prominent problems gamers are facing on last-gen consoles."

The announcement follows a rough initial week for Cyberpunk 2077, which, while expected to see high sales, coupled with a growing list of bugs and launch issues. While receiving positive critical reception on PC among media, the state of its console versions only emerged with the street date. Top problems currently include game-breaking bugs that prevent players from progressing, frequent crashing, and various inconsistencies that tarnish its open-world setting.
