I reviewed the TP-Link Archer AX6000 a few months ago and have since been using it as the main router in my house. Why? It's totally overkill for my needs, but I simply haven't had to worry about it ever since setting it up. It's so good that we awarded it the Windows Central Recommended Award.

The initial setup process was as easy as possible and took just a few minutes, and it has since blanketed my house in a reliable signal on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. In most cases it tripled the throughput of my stock ISP-supplied router, and it works with all my Wi-Fi 6 devices for better performance and less battery draw.

It's a rather large router with eight external antennas so you'll probably want to hide it somewhere, but it's packing eight Gigabit LAN ports, one 2.5Gbps WAN port, USB-A 3.0, and USB-C 3.0 for connecting external storage. One of the main cons of this router is its regular $300 price tag, which really isn't realistic for most people who just need an average router.
