Earning Aspects and Fragments takes a bit of work, but it's so, so worth it.
The new Stasis subclasses are some of the coolest things that Destiny 2's brand new Beyond Light expansion brought to the game, and once you finish the Beyond Light campaign, you can use Stasis whenever you want. However, players can take things even further by tweaking the way that their Stasis subclass works through the use of Aspects and Fragments. Aspects are class-specific modifiers that provide a unique buff to how your character interacts with Stasis — for example, the Titan's Cryoclasm Aspect makes it so that sliding into enemies frozen by Stasis shatters them to pieces — while Fragments are class-agnostic and typically give a certain aspect of your moveset a buff while simultaneously reducing some of your general stats to keep things balanced.
Both Aspects and Fragments allow you to create unique Stasis builds that fit your playstyle well, but getting a hold of them is a little complicated. Don't worry, though, because we're here with a detailed guide that will help you get through the quests you need to complete to make use of Aspects and Fragments.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light How to get Aspects
Your journey to unlock Aspects and Fragments begins with Aspects, and the first thing you'll need to do is head to Europa to speak with the Exo Stranger. She'll give you a quest called "Born in Darkness," which has five steps. The first step is to kill 50 Fallen and get their Energized Ether and get 10 final blows with your Stasis melee ability. The second step of the quest is to complete three Playlist Strikes (Note: Nightfalls do not count) with your Stasis subclass equipped and to kill 60 foes either with Stasis directly or after your Stasis abilities weakened them. Next, you'll need to go into the Braytech Exoscience facility on the western side of Europa, head to the Eternity zone, and hunt down a platoon of Fallen led by an officer called Weniks so that you can commune with the Crux of Darkness (a big pyramid object). You'll find a quest marker on the map that will help you get to this area easily, as seen below. Once you commune with the Crux of Darkness, you'll receive a special Skeleton Key item.
The fourth step of the quest requires you to take the aforementioned Skeleton Key to the Exo Stranger, who is now temporarily located at the end of the Bunker E15 Lost Sector. If you don't know how to get to this Lost Sector, check out our Lost Sector guide. Note: You can't speedrun this Lost Sector. All of the enemies have to die for the area where the Exo Stranger is to open. Once you can get to where she is, listen to her dialogue, and then after she teleports away, speak to her again in her normal location to complete the fifth and final step of the quest.
Your work isn't over, though. The Exo Stranger will give you a new quest called "Aspect of Control," and it tasks you with finding five Entropic Shards on Europa and destroying them with the Salvation's Grip Exotic grenade launcher. Make sure to check out our guide to all the new Exotic weapons and how to get them if you haven't earned the Salvation's Grip yet. Unfortunately, the game doesn't give you any clues about where you can find these Entropic Shards, but after some, through exploration, we've found them all.
The first Entropic Shard is directly north of the entrance to the Braytech Exoscience area, tucked in the corner where two large ice shelves intersect. If you're having a hard time finding it, keep an eye out for the small structure with a large antenna sticking out that's nearby.
The second shard is located on top of the large Vex structures found in the center of the Asterion Abyss area. Specifically, you'll find it atop the northernmost point.
The third shard is located in the final room of the Concealed Void Lost Sector (Refer to our guide if needed). You'll need to look up towards where the light is shining down from to see the shard.
The fourth shard is behind the stairs in front of the second gravity lift in the Riis-Reborn Approach zone. You can walk around the nearby crates to get access to the area behind the stairs.
The fifth and final shard is in the final room of the Technocrat's Iron zone, which you can get to by taking the teleporter found in Riis-Reborn Approach. As you walk into the room with four pillars, the shard will be suspended next to the pillar that's closest to you and on your right.
Now that you've destroyed all the shards, you need to go commune with the Crux of Darkness that's in the Riis-Reborn Approach area. Once you do, several waves of enemies will spawn, and you have to kill them all. Eventually, a boss will arrive, and once you kill it, your first Aspect will finally be yours. As of right now, we're not sure how to get more (or if it's even possible yet), but we'll update this article when we learn more.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light How to get Fragments
Thankfully, earning Fragments is much more straightforward than earning your Aspect is. Once you've got your Aspect, all you have to do is talk to the Exo Stranger, and she'll allow you to pick two Fragment quests per week.
You can choose whether you want to earn these in Strikes, Gambit, or Crucible, and each game mode comes with its own set of objectives that you'll need to accomplish before the Fragment is rewarded to you. We recommend opting for the game mode that you tend to play most often, as this will allow you to work on getting your Fragments as soon as possible.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light is available for $40 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Windows 10 PCs. It's also available through Xbox Game Pass, which is an excellent way to try the game out in general. I highly recommend doing so, as Destiny 2 is definitely one of the best Xbox One shooters around.
