This isn't the end of new things coming to The Master Chief Collection however, as 343 Industries is testing features like crossplay, new armor permutations, cosmetics and more.
November 17 is the same day that Halo: The Master Chief Collection becomes optimized for Xbox Series X and S, adding 120 FPS support and an FOV slider to the next-generation platform versions. The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are set to release on November 10, so players will only be waiting a week for this upgrade.
This will be the final Halo title currently planned to arrive on PC until Halo Infinite comes sometime in 2021, unless 343 Industries decides to bring over Halo 5: Guardians to PC. There's a lot of questions around the next major entry in the Halo franchise, which is introducing new features like armor coatings.
