AMD recently announced some exciting new hardware, and you might be wondering where to buy the Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards (GPU) when they're released. These cards are expected to compete with NVIDIA's RTX 30-series GPUs and should make a strong claim for the top spots of our best graphics card roundup. As we head into the expected November 18 release of the RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 and later December 8 release of the RX 6900 XT, let's take a look at the best spots to shop for the new AMD GPUs.

Where to buy the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT

ASUS ROG Strix LC RX 6800 XT

The AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT is expected to go on sale at 9AM EST November 18, but don't expect a ton of stock on day one. So far we haven't seen any preorder listings at major retailers, and it seems as though you'll need to be quick on the refresh button to get one of these GPUs from the first batch. Your best bet is to check out Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Newegg, and B&H right around launch time.

We have seen some models from various manufacturers that are launching on release day or soon after.

Gigabyte has a 6800 XT model, and it's the same as the reference version that AMD first showed off during the Big Navi reveal. Think of it like NVIDIA's Founders Edition models. This design has three fans, an aluminum backplate, and dual 8-pin connectors. Sapphire's RX 6800 XT, also announced, follows the same reference design.

MSI has revealed a Gaming X Trio version of the RX 6800 XT, which resembles other cards from the same series. You get some RGB on the front around the middle fan (three total fans), the RGB logo, and a strip along the edge of the backplate.

ASUS brings a couple of RX 6800 XT models to the table. One is a liquid-cooled ROG Strix LC version with a paired radiator for those high-end custom builds, while the other is in the TUF Gaming series with three fans and an aluminum backplate.

PowerColor has also teased a Red Devil RX 6800 XT, with three cooling fans and some aggressive red RGB lighting. Finally, ASRock has unveiled a couple of RX 6800 XT cards, including the Taichi X 16G OC with three fans and RGB lighting and the Phantom Gaming OC with a slightly different design (though three fans).

Where to buy the AMD Radeon RX 6800

Like the RX 6800 XT, the RX 6800 so far hasn't shown up at any retailers ahead of launch for preorders. It's expected to be released at the same 9AM EST time November 18, and your best bet is to try and grab a card from online retailers at that time. Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Newegg, and B&H are all good places to check.

Some third-party manufacturers have shown off different versions of the card ahead of release. Gigabyte and Sapphire have both revealed similar RX 6800 GPUs based on the AMD reference design. They use the three-fan design and aluminum backplate, just like the 6800 XT.

The ASUS ROG Strix RX 6800 has three fans with RGB lighting, extensive RGB on the side, and a full backplate. There's also a TUF Gaming version of the RX 6800 with the same black aluminum shroud and full-length aluminum backplate.

ASRock has an RX 6800 Challenger Pro OC with a triple-fan cooling design and some RGB lighting on the side for extra style. More cards are undoubtedly on the way for release after launch.

Where to buy the RX 6900 XT

There doesn't appear to yet be any versions of the RX 6900 XT, but that makes sense due to the later December 8 release date AMD is expecting to hit. We will keep our eyes on any new RX 6900 XT models, no matter the manufacturer. And, of course, we will keep any retailers with 6900 XT listings in mind.

Which RX 6000 GPU should you buy?

We're still a way off from the expected release dates of these GPUs, but you might already be wondering which AMD Radeon RX 6000 GPU you should buy. As a bottom line, stick with the RX 6800 XT if you'd like to game at 4K or 1440p. Go with the RX 6800 if you prefer sticking with 1440p and dabbling in 4K. And go with the RX 6900 XT if you're looking to go all-in with 4K gaming.
