What To Do After Installing GIMP 2.10

GNU Image Manipulation Program or more popular as GIMP is a professional graphic editor everyone can get freely. Its 2.10 version is a big change compared to prior versions. So after you installed it on Ubuntu perhaps you will need some adjustments. Here is a summary of things useful to do for you.

1. Switch Back to Classic Theme

 

Go to Edit > Preferences >  Interface > Theme > select System instead of Dark > OK.

2. Switch Back To Classic Icons 

 

Still on the Preferences, go to Interface > Icons > select Legacy instead of Symbolic> OK.

3. Switch Back To Ungrouped Icons

 

Still on the Preferences, under Interface move to Toolbox submenu > uncheck Use tool groups > OK.

4. Switch To Single Window Mode

In case you accidentally clicked some buttons and GIMP window got divided into three pieces, you can turn it back into one by going to menubar Windows > give check mark Single Window Mode.
