This Prime Day lightning deal is going fast, so save on one of the best docking stations while you still can.
Laptops keep getting slimmer, and with the old thickness goes a lot of potential connectivity. For that reason, powerful laptop docking stations that connect with Thunderbolt 3 have come into fashion, and perhaps none is a better choice than CalDigit's TS3 Plus. It sits at the top of a few accessory roundups, and holds the crown for best laptop docking station overall. And thanks to Prime Day, you can nab it for $200, which is about as low as we've seen the price dip.
So Many Ports
CalDigit TS3 Plus
With 15 total ports, up to 85W charging back to your laptop, and multiple display support, this compact docking station will turn a Thunderbolt 3 port into the centre of your workstation.
The CalDigit TS3 has been the centrepiece of my home office for a couple of years despite having plenty of docking stations move through for testing. I just can't stop using it. It stands up vertically, it sits horizontally, and it doesn't take up much room either way. The aluminum build can have stuff stacked onto it without fear of cracking, and the grooved design lets it dissipate heat. I run a 2K and a 4K display from it without issue, though it can handle up to dual 4K displays.
In total you're getting 15 ports, with one reserved for the host cable back to your laptop. You get five USB-A 3.1, two Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2, two USB-C 3.1, Ethernet, S/PDIF, a UHS-II SD card reader, and 3.5mm audio in and out. That gives you the ability to connect a whole lot of accessories, and I've still never come close to maxing it out. Perhaps the best part is that my laptop stays charged when it's connected to the dock thanks to up to 85W of power delivery via the Thunderbolt 3 host cable.
This dock is usually priced somewhere between $250 and $300, so getting in at $200 for Prime Day is a great opportunity. Don't wait too long, as this lightning deal is quickly counting down and won't last through the night.
