In 2020, Microsoft is kickstarting a new console cycle with the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Both of these beefy consoles sport much more powerful internals, beating out their Xbox One X and Xbox One S cousins with improved SSD storage, better CPUs, and much more. However, no home console experience is complete without some sexy accessories to go with it. We're rounding up our top picks for accessories that are confirmed to be compatible with the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S to make sure you're getting the best experience.

Best Xbox Series X, Series S Accessories 2020

  1. PDP TalonBest Media Remote: This refreshed remote removes the number buttons for a more streamlined media experience.
  2. Razer KishiBest for Xbox Cloud Gaming: The Razer Kishi turns your Android phone into a mini-Nintendo Switch, ideal for streaming games from your Xbox Series S or X, or enjoying Xbox Game Pass Cloud.
  3. PowerA Phone ClipBest Phone Clip for Xbox Cloud Gaming: If you don't want to fork out the cash for a Razer Kishi, the PowerA Phone Clip is the next-best thing for gaming on the go.
  4. LucidSound LS35XBest Xbox Headset: Overall, this is the best Xbox headset you can get, with high levels of comfort, quality, with rock-solid wirelessness, and a premium mic.
  5. HyperX CloudXBest Affordable Xbox Headset: You can get cheaper headsets than this, but they just aren't very good. The cheapest good headset you can get is this, the legendary HyperX CloudX.

Best Media Remote

PDP Talon

The PDP Talon remote has been updated for Xbox Series X and S, removing the defunct number keys for a sleeker, more modern profile. This will control all of your streaming apps, from Netflix to Disney+.

$20 at Amazon

Best xCloud Controller

Razer Kishi

The Razer Kishi transforms your mobile device into a dedicated streaming handheld, as long as it supports USB-C. Connect the Razer Kishi with a large range of popular phones, and you'll be able to take your Xbox Series X or S games on the road.

$99 at Razer

Best Phone Clip

PowerA

If you're going to take your gaming on the go but don't want to pay for a Razer Kishi, the cheap and cheerful PowerA Phone Clip for Xbox gaming is a great alternative option.

$20 at Amazon

Best Xbox Headset

LucidSound LS35X

$150 at Amazon

This is the best dollar-for-dollar Xbox headset you can get, with meticulously balanced audio, a great mic experience, and premium materials for an all-around great experience. This headset will not disappoint.

Best affordable headset

HyperX CloudX

$80 at Amazon

The HyperX CloudX is the cheapest headset that retains a baseline level of quality. Anything cheaper than this, and the headsets will likely break anyway, forcing you to buy new ones. This headset is built to last and sounds tremendous for its price.

Best Xbox controller

Xbox Elite Controller Series 2

$200 at Microsoft Store

It's not cheap, but the high volume of configurable features make this controller a winner for those who want a fully customizable experience. The charging dock and 40-hour wireless battery life is also the best in the business.

Best Batteries

Panasonic Eneloop AA

$20 at Amazon

These are the handiest AA batteries you can get for a basic Xbox controller. The nifty charging station and Eneloop patented-design ensure that these cells will last far longer than regular AA batteries, even after multiple recharges.

Best next-gen storage

Seagate 1TB expansion card

$220 at Amazon

It isn't cheap, but right now, this is the only storage solution that is compatible with Xbox Series X next-gen games. You can use USB storage too, but to get next-gen features and loading speeds, you'll have to move them to an internal device or this memory card solution from Seagate.

Best next-gen TV

LG CX series TV

From $1500 at Amazon

If you want to tick every box for next-gen gaming, this is the best set you can get right now. The LG CX supports all HDMI 2.1 features, including 120Hz at 4K, alongside HDR10 and Freesync VRR.

Our top Xbox Series X/S accessory picks

There are hundreds of great products out there that could qualify as the "best Xbox Series X, Series S accessories," but these are our absolute top picks to get the most out of your next-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S experiences.

One thing you can never be without is a good headset, and we've rounded up the best Xbox Series X, Series S headsets over here. But if I had to pick just one, my favorite is the LucidSound LS35X. This headset punches above its price point for sound quality and design, with robust materials that are built to last not months, but years. It also has a microphone that beats practically all of its competitors, even on headsets with far higher price points. I always opt for the HyperX CloudX for an entry-level alternative, but quite honestly, anything cheaper than the HyperX is not worth buying in my opinion.

As for other accessories, if you plan to use your Xbox as your main media hub, the PDP Talon media remote is a good shout. The previous-gen versions were robustly designed and worked well.

If you plan to use Xbox Series X or S console streaming, grabbing the Razer Kishi for your Android or IOS device is a great investment. Microsoft will push hard on bringing its flagship console games to mobile devices over the next year, so picking up a Kishi will ensure you're ready to take your console experience on the road when the time comes.
