Lenovo has a whole new business laptop for fall 2020, named the ThinkPad X1 Nano. As the name implies, this is an ultra-light laptop – the lightest Lenovo has ever made. But being thin and light does not mean compromise as this full Ultrabook has Windows 10 Pro, 11th Gen Intel Core i7, new Intel Xe graphics, and a whole lot of "smart" built into it too.
Perhaps the bigger story is this is the first modern ThinkPad to ditch the 16:9 aspect and adopt the taller 16:10. This screen switch is a trend that started with Microsoft's 3:2 Surface line and recently adopted by Dell using 16:10.

With a 13-inch 2K Dolby Vision display (in touch or non-touch), the ThinkPad X1 Nano also has Wi-Fi 6, Thunderbolt 4, and 5G abilities making it a do-it-all laptop. Intel's latest Xe graphics should give nearly an 80 percent boost in performance compared to 10th Gen.
That display gets augmented by two upward-firing tweeters and two downward-firing woofers to create an immersive soundscape powered by Dolby Atmos.
Another neat trick is the ThinkPad X1 Nano can detect when you approach the laptop (with the display open). The camera can then turn on the screen and log you in without ever touching it. The same applies for when you walk away as the laptop will auto-lock to secure your data. There are even built-in voice recognition systems and a fingerprint reader for added security.
All of that wouldn't matter if battery life were poor, but being built on Intel's latest Evo platform, Lenovo can claim north of 17 hours of battery life. Considering real-world usage, even if that is 8 or 9 hours with all that tech, it would be an all-day device.
Availability of the ThinkPad X1 Nano is expected in the 4th quarter 2020, with preorders happening in a few weeks. Pricing starts at $1,400 and goes up based on configuration.

Lenovo's brand-new ThinkPad X1 Nano is a 2lb Ultrabook with up to an 11th Gen Core i7, 5G, a 2K 16:10 display, and some of the latest AI tech from Intel that makes this one smart laptop. The quoted 17 hours of battery life is not bad either.
