Dynabook is going all-in on convertible portability.
What you need to know
- Dynabook launched two new notebooks today, both featuring Intel's new 11th Gen Core CPUs.
- They're also incredibly light, with the Dynabook X30W hitting under 1kg on certain configurations.
- Pricing isn't available, but both are expected to go on sale at some point in Q4 2020.
Following the launch of Intel's new 11th Gen Core CPUs today, Dynabook is among the first PC makers to announce new laptops featuring the chips. The new processors are only part of these laptops' appeal, though. They both aim for a slim, light design, with one coming in at under 1kg (roughly 2.2 pounds) in certain configurations.
Dynabook Portégé X30W-J and X30L-J
The Dynabook Portégé X30W-J weighs in under 1kg while still managing to bring some impressive specs to the table. Verified to use Intel's new Evo badge, the laptop is a part of the Project Athena innovation program as well.
On the inside, this 13.3-inch convertible comes with a range of 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics on board. The display is a Sharp IGZO panel, which should mean solid viewing angles no matter where you're sitting. There's also Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4 here as well.
The Dynabook Portégé X30L-J, meanwhile, takes more of a traditional laptop design and incorporates many of the same features of its X30W-J sibling. You'll get a similar 13.3-inch Sharp IGZO display here, along with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. There are also Thunderbolt 4 certified USB-C ports here, along with "all-day battery life," Dynabook says.
Both laptops are designed to meet some rigorous durability standards, and Dynabook has included some security features as well. They both meet Microsoft's Windows 10 Secured-core PC requirements. They also feature enterprise-grade encryption and biometric authentication.
