You'll be able to use Phone Screen and more in the Your Phone app with Surface Duo

What you need to know

  • Surface Duo features "Link To Windows" Your Phone integration.
  • It'll have all the Your Phone features, including Your Screen.

Good news for Microsoft fans who are considering the Surface Duo; Microsoft's own Your Phone app will be fully supported with all features, including the exclusive Samsung ones such as the Phone Screen feature. Surface Duo ships with "Link To Windows," the same version of Your Phone that also ships on Samsung's phones.

Microsoft is touting enhanced productivity with Your Phone and the Surface Duo, with the new "Apps" feature coming in November that will support running multiple Android apps from your Surface Duo on your PC at once. You'll also be able to connect to your Surface Duo while the device is closed, saving battery in the process.

Users can link Surface Duo to their PC by going to the Link To Windows area in the Surface Duo's settings app, just like on a Samsung phone. The process is more streamlined and should be more reliable compared to phones that manually download and install the Your Phone app from the Google Play Store.

Surface Duo launches September 10 for $1399, and will be available in the United States on AT&T or unlocked through the Microsoft Store and Best Buy.
