Developer Torn Banner Studios has announced in a blog post that Chivalry 2, the upcoming sequel to the beloved medieval melee game Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, has been delayed until 2021. The stated reason behind the delay is that the developers "are shifting to utilize this additional time to better meet our core goals for Chivalry 2, as well as allowing us to incorporate several quality of life improvements and also include what was originally post-launch content, in the release." Essentially, while it will take longer for the game to come out, it will also launch in a smoother state and will feature more content on release day. Specificially, Torn Banner Studios went on to mention that more maps and game features will be present at launch. However, it did note that horses are still going to be added after launch, as "they need a bit more time in the training stables."
Additionally, Torn Banner Studios confirmed that the Summer 2020 public beta for the game has been delayed as well. It's worth noting, though, that fans who want to try the game out as soon as possible can sign up for closed alpha testing. The developers didn't give a clear indication of when we can expect Chivalry 2 in 2021, but we do know that it will launch on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC through the Epic Games Store. If you're itching to play a game like Chivalry 2 right now, we highly recommend Mordhau. It, much like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Chivalry 2, is a large-scale medieval game with an emphasis on skill-based melee combat and sandbox elements like ballistas and catapults.
Medieval mayhem at its finest
Mordhau
Have at them, boys!
While you're waiting for Chivalry 2, don't miss out on Mordhau. It's got the same style of gameplay, making it an excellent alternative to play while you wait.
