Is this the Xbox Series S?
What you need to know
- The Xbox Series X is the most powerful next-generation console.
- Rumors are floating around that there's an Xbox Series S in the works.
- A white next-generation Xbox Controller leaked online today.
- It could be from a white Xbox Series X or the elusive Xbox Series S.
It's no secret that the Xbox Series X is the most powerful next-generation console launching in Holiday 2020. It features 12 teraflops (TFLOPS) of computing power, and can run some games at 4K resolution and 120 frames per second (FPS), like "Orphan of the Machine." However, what you probably don't know is that there are rumors floating around of a less powerful, 4 TFLOPS machine that will run games at 1080p resolution and maybe just 60 FPS.
The device is being called the Xbox Series S — a name that possibly isn't what the machine will be called if it's actually released — and today, we may have gotten some indication that it's real. Today on Reddit, a user by the name of "Wolfy_Wizzardo" posted an image of a white next-generation Xbox Controller that could be from the Xbox Series S. It's also possible that it's from a white version of the Xbox Series X. We just don't know!
As with any such leak, wait for an official reveal. For all we know, this could be a 3D-printed hoax, but given the quality of the controller, it doesn't seem likely. However, we just don't know and have no way of confirming unless it was actually in our possession. What do you think the controller is from? A white Xbox Series X or the elusive Xbox Series S? Let us know.
