Minecraft is an incredibly complicated game, with numerous parts and pieces that all need to fit together perfectly to create the end result. One of the biggest parts of Minecraft is the sound design, which adds a lot to the environments and atmospheres that players can explore. A lot of work goes into sound in Minecraft, which has led to the game having one of the most beautiful soundtracks and most memorable ambient sounds.

In the latest Dev Diaries video on YouTube, different developers from Mojang discuss how sound in the Nether Update was designed, which gives us a great insight into the final product. One of the most fascinating tidbits was how many of the sounds in the game were made from balloons, toys, and even the developer making the sounds himself!
