Use the Witherhoard. Can't stress this enough.

With Destiny 2's "Season of Arrivals" going full force, we thought we'd take this opportunity to experiment with some of the new weapons to determine what the best loadouts for player vs. player (PvP) and player vs. enemy (PvE) encounters were. With the introduction of the revamped Gwaning Hunger auto rifle and the Witherhoard Exotic grenade launcher, preferred loadouts have changed quite a bit.

PvE

When it comes to armor, I would recommending Masterworking pieces that have high Intellect and Recovery. These two perks the most important in the game in my opinion. Intellect helps recharge your Super at a fast rate while Recovery helps you regenerate faster after you're hit. If you can't find that combination, finding pieces that have high Intellect and Resilience also works. Resilience makes your shield stronger so you can withstand more damage. This is great armor to have for PvP as well.

The best weapon in the game right now is the Witherhoard grenade launcher. It melts bosses and leaves a pool of poison in its wake. That should be your primary weapon without a doubt in any activity, including Nightfall: The Ordeal. The secondary weapon should be a legendary auto rifle because you encounter a lot of Barrier Champions in high-level activities like the Master Nightmare Hunt. I've been using the new Gnawing Hunger with a Range Masterwork. It fires at an incredible fast rate and is also pretty good in PvP if you don't want to use Hard Light.

For your heavy weapon, I would recommend using the new sword, Falling Guillotine, because it cuts through Champions with ease. It's sort of shocking and I hope Bungie doesn't nerf this because right now, it makes Nightfall: The Ordeal a piece of cake.

PvP

Last season, Bungie changed the game up where auto rifles were the go-to weapon for PvP. This still seems to be the case because Hard Light absolutely dominates any opponents in The Crucible. I've been using the Astral Horizon shotgun, with a Range Masterwork, and Hard Light as my default weapons and they work surprisingly well. I've tried other setups like Suros Regime coupled with a long-range shotgun, but it pales in comparison to Astral Horizon and Hard Light. Unless anything changes this season, these are the meta at the moment.

For your heavy weapon, I would recommend the Trials of Osiris rocket launcher that's called Tomorrow's Answer. It does an insane amount of blast damage and the rocket velocity is unmatched. Other than that, you can also use the curated Bad Omens sold by The Drifter that features a Tracking Module to home in on enemies. Both of these are great for taking out groups of Guardians.

Hopefully, this guide will help you conquer even greater challenges in Destiny 2. Let us know if it helped. What are some of the builds you use?
