NVIDIA is packing big upgrades for its upcoming flagship video card, the RTX 3080 Ti.

- Leaked 3DMark scores of an alleged RTX 3080 Ti point to a 30% performance increase over the 2080 Ti.
- Another leak suggests the video card will deliver 21 TFLOPs of power.
- The card should make its debut in the coming months.
NVIDIA's Ampere cards are on the horizon, and we're starting to see numerous leaks that give us a better picture of what's on offer with the upcoming cards. Today's leak comes by way of HardwareLeaks, and shows off a private 3DMark result of an upcoming NVIDIA GPU.
NVIDIA is said to be using the GA102 silicon in three variants of the RTX 30 series: the RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, and a Titan option. What's interesting here is that the card posted a massive 31% performance increase over the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition, giving us a hint of the performance on offer from NVIDIA's next-gen series. With AMD's Big Navi cards said to be anywhere between 10% to 15% faster than the RTX 2080 Ti, this gives NVIDIA an edge.
The card in question has a boost clock of 1935MHz and memory clock of 6000MHz. The memory clock is inconsistent with what we usually see, and as HardwareLeaks points out, it could be because the card is using a new type of memory that is not yet detected by 3DMark. That adds more credibility to this leak, given that the RTX 3080 Ti is said to feature GDDR6X memory.
Now, this is where things get murky. Another leak out of Twitter suggests the RTX 3080 Ti will deliver 21 TFLOPs of power:

The information above doesn't line up with earlier RTX 3080 Ti leaks, so it isn't likely we will see 21 TFLOPs of performance out of NVIDIA's upcoming flagship video card. That said, the leaked 3DMark score suggests there is a huge performance uptick over the RTX 2080 Ti, and that should be welcome news to NVIDIA fans looking to upgrade to the RTX 30 series once it debuts later this year.
The latest leaks point to the RTX 30 series entering mass-production sometime in August, with a formal unveil a month after that. If these performance figures are any indication, gamers will find plenty to like in the RTX 30 series.
