Is this a Darkness-powered weapon?
What you need to know
- Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter from Halo creator Bungie.
- The game focuses on loot and a lot of unique weapons.
- We recently discovered that there's a new Trace Rifle coming to the game.
- The weapon is called Ruinous Effigy, but it's unclear what the damage type is.
Destiny 2 is a popular first-person shooter that relies on lots of loot to keep players coming back for me. During this season, the game seems like it's getting a new Trace Rifle — essentially a gun that shoots a laser beam and does a lot of sustained damage. The weapon is called Ruinous Effigy and you can see what it looks like in the Universal Ornaments tab in Destiny 2's menu.
The default appearance of the weapon appears to be white, but with the Equinox ornament equipped, it turns into a striking gun. It's one of the best designs we've seen so far in Destiny 2 in my opinion. I thought Divinity was a good-looking Trace Rifle with the Sky/Perdition ornament, but now I want this new gun.
It's unclear how you can earn it at this time, but the weapon seems like it's going to be released later this season. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more. Until then, you can admire the gorgeous weapon in the screenshots above.
